Tacloban Ride Day 2 (Mar 23 Early Morning)

The rain still followed when we left the hotel around 4:30 AM on the way to the pier about 10 kms away. Good thing we were still able to catch the ferry to Liloan, Leyte even though one of us overslept. The OASR and Kagayanhun Kruisers had been in the ferry terminal since 2AM!

Tacloban Ride Day 1 (Night)

We checked-in at the Tavern, changed to dry clothes, had dinner and retired early so we could catch the 5AM ferry to Liloan, Leyte the next day...except for Joel, Ading, and Daniel, who were enticed to imbibe more than the appropriate volume of fun substances.

Tacloban Ride Day 1 (Mar 22)

An excited contingent from the Davao Agila Riders left Davao last March 22, 2007 to attend the 13th National Convention of the National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs of the Philippines that was held on Tacloban.

At around 7AM, Pres. Daniel with King, Jerome, Joe, Gigi, Ading, Paul, Joel, Mon, Col. Afayart and I left the Chowking store (in front of Victorial Plaza) and rode north to what later became a ride in the rain.

Wet (but not wild) practically the whole time, we had breakfast at Nabunturan, lunch at San Francisco, and had merienda at Cabadbaran. We experienced the heaviest downpour as we neared Surigao City where we arrived at around 4:30 PM.

Davao Agila Riders 2007

I have been Secretary of the Davao Agila Riders for the past three years. This is the club's 2007 roster. So while the name implies that motorcycling in Davao is the focus, expect that this blog, at least initially, will be Davao Agila Riders-centric.

The Meaning of the Blog Blues

I just read an article (linked by Arts and Letters Daily) about how a blog started the chain 0f events that, as I write this, is currently is embroiling the US Attorney General. (The issue will most probably will be forgotten next month, so there is no need to discuss it.) Of course, nothing in this blog will result in anything significant that can merit even a passing mention by a ranting blocktimer on the local AM radio.

At the same time, I thought it would be a good idea to learn all about this blogging stuff.

So this.

I chose to write about motorcycles because riding motorcycles is the hobby that most engrosses me now. I took this Blog's title from the popular "Motorcycle Philippines" website and decided to focus on motorcycling in my hometown, Davao. (MCP, as the website is fondly called, has become the domain of juvenile scooter riders and all their inane posts ("Great, bro!", dancing images, horrible English, large fonts, larger fonts for their names, conceited avatars, petty fights and stupid quotations). I have looked for another forum that replicated the MCP of old but to no avail.

So I might was well create my own. Unfortunately, from the looks of it, this will be a forum of one.
